About
Since I joined the blogosphere, firstly on Blogger, with the blog written in Portuguese Opiniões Públicas and a brief collaboration to an english written blog (Football Commentator), and more recently the arrival to WordPress, I had the will to make real one of the things that always seemed perfectly reachable through the Internet: the assembly of people from different cultures and societies, with distinct experiences and ways of life, religious traditions, politic visions, and their accommodation in a common space, where all of us could learn and make learn. This blog is the concretization of that dream; it’s the certainty that it is possible to ‘shorten’ this World, to homogenize it. In here I expect to – and that’s the message I transmit to the other members – discuss the subjects that really matter, starting from the daily news transmitted by the media and tackling everything that could be a conversation theme: politics, society, culture, religion, sports, arts, science, technology, geography, history, etc. To create this webspace I needed to contact bloggers from all over the World, having utilized blog search engines and had the possibility to read texts of a great quality. Some of those high-quality bloggers would end up joining my project – having also shown great enthusiasm about my idea – and little by little a so far only dreamed multiculturalism gained shape. It pleases me that this gathering of people of so many races, frequently colliding cultures and different religious beliefs could be so rich and pacifically reached. The ultimate goal, the pleasantness of this blog to its readers, is the missing step and it’ll never be totally inferred; even so we have already reached what I really wanted: to make of a mere blog a worldwide communal space, a World Community.
